FIRST has a Swedish B2B permit, reference 25Si2111, issued on 21 October 2025. Read the announcement carefully and you find the holder is Trudata Core Limited — not FIRST. That mismatch is normal, and it is why licence checks so often fail.
What was announced
The company said on 23 October 2025 that Spelinspektionen had granted a permit to manufacture, supply, install and modify gaming software. It covers a sportsbook platform with a native Swedish interface, localised odds models and real-time Nordic data feeds including Allsvenskan, SHL and regional esports. It cited a Swedish market worth over €2.5 billion a year with more than 85% of betting running through licensed operators.
Brand names and licensed entities
A regulator licenses a legal person, not a trading name. A supplier may operate one brand across several entities, or hold licences in different markets through different companies for tax, liability or ownership reasons. Sweden's register lists the entity.
So searching Spelinspektionen for “FIRST” returns nothing useful, while searching Trudata Core Limited finds the permit. Anyone concluding from the first search that the supplier is unlicensed would be wrong — and we see that mistake often enough that it is worth stating plainly.
The habit worth forming: ask a supplier for the legal entity name and the permit reference, not for a claim about a market. Two pieces of information, both checkable in a minute.
What our records show
We hold two licences for FIRST. A Malta Gaming Authority B2B licence (MGA/B2B/1109/2025) is at our highest tier, confirmed on the Authority's register. The Swedish permit (25Si2111) sits at published-source tier — the number matches the announcement, but we have not yet opened Spelinspektionen's own entry.
We record it live in one market, Brazil, which is narrower than a supplier describing 75-plus operators would suggest. It supplies a fully managed turnkey sportsbook and the SportOS API engine from Malta.
If you are buying in Sweden
Sweden's channelisation is high, which is the attraction: the licensed market is close to the whole market. It also means the regulator is watched closely and a supplier's permit status is worth confirming yourself, under the right entity name, before you sign.
The second thing worth confirming is what the permit actually covers. This one is for manufacturing, supplying, installing and modifying gaming software — the supply side. It is not an operator licence, and a supplier holding it cannot take bets from Swedish players on its own account. If a turnkey arrangement is being discussed, establish early which party will hold the operator licence, because that is the party the regulator holds responsible.
