ThrillTech has a Category A1 manufacturer's licence from the Hellenic Gaming Commission for ThrillPots, its side-bet jackpot product. The company says it is the first specialist jackpot provider licensed in Greece, and that claim is more interesting than it sounds.
What was announced
The Cyprus-based company said on 31 July 2026 that the HGC had granted the licence. Chief marketing officer Giles Potter said the approval “makes ThrillTech the first specialist iGaming jackpot provider to be licensed in Greece”. No licence number was published. The company listed Ontario, Gibraltar, the United Kingdom, Sweden, the Netherlands, Romania, Croatia, Malta, Brazil and Peru as other jurisdictions it holds.
Why jackpot suppliers are an awkward fit
Most licensing frameworks were written with two kinds of supplier in mind: the studio that makes a game and the platform that serves it. A side-bet jackpot is neither. It sits across other people's games, takes a player-funded contribution from each stake, and pays out on its own rules — which means it affects the outcome and the money without being the game.
Regulators have generally resolved this by treating the jackpot engine as a manufactured gaming system in its own right, needing its own approval and its own certification. That is what a Category A1 manufacturer licence is in Greece: authorisation to produce and supply gaming software, with individual products certified separately.
The practical consequence for an operator is that running a third-party jackpot across your games needs the jackpot supplier licensed in your market too. Your game supplier's licence does not cover it.
What our records show
ThrillTech is among the more heavily licensed companies of its size in our data — eight entries for a business founded in 2023. A UK Gambling Commission licence is at our highest tier. Seven more sit at published-source tier, several with numbers: Sweden (23Si2904.1), Peru (Nº6427-2025-MINCETUR/VMT/DGJCMT), Gibraltar (RGL 173), Greece (HGC-000168-MN), Ontario (GRSM1532485), Malta (RN/004/2024) and Romania (L2244182Y001543).
We record it live in one market, the United Kingdom, which is far behind the ten the company lists — a coverage gap on our side. The Greek number in our data suggests our record may already reflect this licence.
If you are running jackpots
Check that your jackpot provider holds a licence in every market where you intend to run the promotion, separately from your game suppliers. It is the single most common gap we see in this part of the stack, because the jackpot usually arrives through an existing supplier relationship and nobody asks.
