How to send one
Write to [email protected]. There is no form to fill in, but a correction moves much faster when it carries four things:
- The page. The full URL, so we are looking at the same record.
- What is wrong. The specific field, not just “the profile”.
- What it should say.
- Where that can be checked. A regulator register entry, an official filing, a dated page on the company’s own site. This is the part that decides how fast it changes.
Corrections about a licence
Licences are held to a higher bar than anything else on the site, because they are the reason people use it. To move a licence to independently verified we have to open the issuing regulator’s own public register and find the entry ourselves — so a link straight to that entry is worth more than any other kind of evidence. A claim we cannot confirm on a register is still recorded, just at a lower tier that says so. The tiers are explained on how we verify data.
What happens next
Someone reads it and checks the source rather than the argument. If the record is wrong we change it and reset the checked date. If the source turns out to be ambiguous we lower the record’s tier rather than leave something confident-looking in place.
Every change made through our editor is logged with who made it and what it replaced, so a correction is auditable after the fact.
Removing a person or a company
Speaker profiles are built from published conference programmes and name real people. If you are named on one and want it removed, write to [email protected] and we will take it down — you do not have to give a reason. Companies wanting a listing removed should write from a company domain to [email protected]. Both routes, and the rights behind them, are set out in the privacy policy.
