The categories
When you first arrive we ask which categories you accept. You can accept all, reject everything optional, or choose category by category — rejecting is exactly as easy as accepting, and costs one click either way.
- Strictly necessary always on
- Signing in, keeping you signed in, remembering your cookie choice, and letting our editors preview an unpublished page. Without these the site cannot do what you asked it to, so they are not subject to consent — and there is no way to switch them off while using the site.
- Analytics off by default
- Counting page views so we know which parts of the site earn their keep. Nothing analytics-related loads until you turn this on.
- Preferences off by default
- Remembering choices such as a default market or a saved shortlist between visits.
- Marketing off by default
- Advertising and cross-site tracking. We do not use any today, and the category exists so that if that ever changes, it changes with your permission rather than quietly.
Every cookie we set
| Name | Category | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
gam_session | Strictly necessary | Keeps you signed in to your account. | 30 days |
gam_consent | Strictly necessary | Records the cookie choice you made, so we stop asking. | 6 months |
__prerender_bypass | Strictly necessary | Set only for signed-in Gamitas editors, so they can preview a page before it is published. Never set for visitors. | Session |
That is the complete list at the date above. If we add anything, it appears in this table before it is switched on.
Changing your mind
Use the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page. It reopens the same dialog you saw on your first visit, with your current choices selected. A change takes effect immediately.
Your choice is stored in your browser, so it is per browser and per device. Clearing your browsing data clears it too, and we will ask again.
Controlling cookies in your browser
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies for a site, independently of what we offer here — look for “Cookies and site data” in its privacy settings. Blocking the strictly necessary ones will stop you signing in, but the rest of the site will work.
