Delasport has been registered by Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis under two separate supplier categories — platform provider and critical gaming systems supplier. Suppliers often quote one and mean the other, and the distinction is worth understanding before you read any Alberta announcement.
What was announced
On 16 September 2026 the company said AGLC had registered it as an iGaming Goods or Services Supplier — Platform Provider and as a Critical Gaming Systems Supplier. The registrations cover its player account management platform, its own sportsbook and its casino aggregation product. It named TitanPlay, Maverick Games and Betnova as partners.
Filippo Ferri, the company's chief compliance officer, tied the move to its existing Canadian work: “Our success in Ontario has demonstrated that we have the technology, expertise and operational capabilities to help operators succeed in highly regulated Canadian markets.”
Two registrations, two different things
A platform provider registration covers the commercial supply of a product to an operator. A critical gaming systems registration covers the components a regulator treats as load-bearing — the parts that, if they fail or are tampered with, put player funds or game fairness at risk. Player account management usually falls in the second group, because it holds balances and identity.
The practical consequence for a buyer is that a supplier holding only the first is not cleared to run the systems the second covers. If you are procuring a full platform, ask which categories the supplier actually holds in your market rather than accepting “we are licensed there”.
The numbers the company quoted
Delasport cited Ontario's 2024–25 figures — CA$82.7 billion wagered and CA$3.2 billion in gross gaming revenue — and an expectation of roughly CA$1.2 billion in first-year gross gaming revenue for Alberta, with an estimated 70% of current local play running through unregulated channels. Those are the company's figures, not ours; the Ontario pair are consistent with iGaming Ontario's published reporting, the Alberta and channelling estimates are projections.
What our records show
We hold two licences for Delasport, both at our highest tier because we opened the issuing register ourselves: a Malta Gaming Authority B2B licence (MGA/B2B/875/2021) and a UK Gambling Commission licence (029045-R-335264-002). We record it live in nine markets, Ontario among them, which makes Alberta an extension of an existing Canadian footprint rather than a first attempt at one.
What it changes
Very little for operators already using the platform in Ontario, and quite a lot for anyone planning an Alberta launch who has not yet chosen a platform: the supplier shortlist in a new province is short in the opening months, and it is set by who cleared registration first.
