Sunbet, the digital arm of South Africa's Sun International, has renewed its contract with platform provider Bede Gaming. The renewal extends a partnership of nearly ten years that has taken Sunbet from South Africa into Botswana and Namibia.
The numbers behind the renewal
In its H1 2026 financial update, Sun International reported a 36% year-on-year rise in revenue for the digital brand and a 43% overall increase in iGaming GGR. Sunbet offers sports betting, casino and live casino across its online and mobile channels.
Bede has supported Sunbet with tailored features and integrations, including the Kambi sportsbook and the Xtremepush CRM platform. Its expansion into Botswana and Namibia runs on the same internationally configurable platform.

Gamitas view
Platform deals that last close to a decade are rare, because switching a player account platform is expensive and risky. When it does happen, a renewal tends to say more about a supplier than a new signing does. Sunbet's growth, and its move into two neighbouring markets on the same stack, is the case Bede will use when pitching other operators in Africa and beyond.
It also shows how South Africa's leading brands are building multi-market operations across southern Africa, where licensing is local and platforms need to be configured market by market. Operators looking at the region can compare platform providers and see other suppliers active in South Africa, or read Bede's supplier profile.
