Media Troopers, the digital marketing and customer acquisition group that works for US operators including BetMGM, Caesars, DraftKings and FanDuel, is taking its performance marketing beyond gambling. The company will use the technology, data and audience acquisition skills it built in regulated online gambling to reach audiences across mainstream media.
Why it is moving now
Media Troopers says audiences are changing how they consume content, and prediction markets are a large part of the reason. These markets overlap with finance, politics, sports, entertainment and news, so their users are not found only on gaming sites. The company plans to use its media-buying expertise to open new channels for customers outside the traditional gaming space, while keeping the same focus on attribution and performance.
Its first visible step will be NEXTPredict NYC in October, a conference that brings together prediction markets, gaming, finance, technology and media.
What the CEO said
“Media Troopers has spent years understanding where valuable audiences are, how to reach them efficiently, and how to measure performance across highly competitive markets.
“We are now applying that knowledge, together with our technology and data capabilities, to a much broader media landscape. Mainstream financial, business and news publishers are increasingly relevant acquisition channels for our customers, and we see significant opportunities to bring a performance-driven approach to those environments.”
About Media Troopers
Founded in 2019, Media Troopers says it now operates in more than 40 jurisdictions across North America. It acquires paying customers for operators through in-house media buying, mobile advertising, its own technology and a network of in-house and affiliated publishers. Clients named by the company include BetMGM, Caesars, DraftKings, FanDuel and BetRivers.
Gamitas view
Acquisition firms built in US gambling hold two assets that travel well: tracking that ties spend to a paying customer, and buying relationships with publishers. Prediction markets give them a reason to take both into finance and news media, where audiences are large but performance buying is less common than in gaming.
For operators and prediction market platforms, the open questions are whether gambling-grade attribution holds up on publishers that have rarely sold on a cost-per-acquisition basis, and how advertising rules for prediction markets settle from state to state. Companies looking for acquisition partners can compare marketing and affiliate suppliers on Gamitas.
