Latin America's online poker market is forecast to grow from $261.6 million in 2024 to $467.6 million by 2030, according to research commissioned by Ignition Casino. The projection draws on Grand View Research data and assumes compound annual growth of 10.2%, the same rate forecast for online poker worldwide.
The research pairs the revenue forecast with Google Trends data showing that search interest in poker has risen in Argentina, Mexico, Chile and Peru over the past five years.
The revenue forecast
| Metric | 2024 | 2026 estimate | 2030 projection | CAGR |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Latin American online poker revenue | $261.6m | $318.5m | $467.6m | 10.2% |
| Global online poker revenue | $3.9bn | $4.7bn | $6.9bn | 10.2% |
| Latin America's share of global revenue | 6.8% | 6.8% | 6.8% | — |
Latin America generated 6.8% of global online poker revenue in 2024. Because the region and the global market are projected to grow at the same 10.2% a year, that share stays at 6.8% through to 2030, when worldwide revenue is forecast to reach $6.9 billion.
Search interest in four markets
| Year | Argentina | Mexico | Chile | Peru |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2020 | 8 | 5 | 4 | 5 |
| 2021 | 6 | 5 | 4 | 4 |
| 2022 | 8 | 6 | 5 | 5 |
| 2023 | 12 | 8 | 7 | 7 |
| 2024 | 14 | 10 | 9 | 9 |
| 2025 | 21 | 16 | 14 | 12 |
Argentina's score rose from 8 in 2020 to 21 in 2025, the highest of the four. Mexico's more than tripled, from 5 to 16. Chile climbed from 4 to 14 and Peru from 5 to 12. In all four countries, interest dipped or held flat in 2021 before rising every year from 2022.
What the data does not tell you
- No country split. The revenue figures are a regional total, with no breakdown by country.
- Regulated and unregulated play are not separated. The forecast does not show how much revenue comes through licensed operators.
- Search scores are relative. Google Trends measures interest over time rather than search volume, so the scores show direction, not the size of each market.
- Brazil is missing from the search data. The region's largest regulated market is not among the four countries tracked.
- The research was commissioned by an operator. Ignition Casino commissioned the study; the underlying figures come from Grand View Research and Google Trends.
Gamitas view
The forecast describes steady growth rather than a breakout. Latin America grows at the same rate as the global market, so its share of online poker revenue does not move. The search data shows where player interest is building, but for suppliers the opportunity depends on licensing. Of the four countries in the research, Gamitas tracks Mexico, Peru and Chile, with 32, 42 and 7 suppliers listed respectively. Argentina, where online gambling is licensed province by province, is not yet covered. Poker also depends on liquidity, and licensed markets tend to keep player pools within national borders, so rising search interest will not turn into network traffic evenly across the region.
