LCKY Group has completed its acquisition of RoyalCasino, one of Denmark's largest online casino operators, after the deal passed all required approvals. RoyalCasino joins the LCKY Group brand portfolio.

The deal

The two companies agreed the deal earlier in the year and completed it in August, and post-merger integration is already under way. RoyalCasino operates only in Denmark, where it has a strong market position, and gives LCKY meaningful scale in the country.

  • Revenue: forecast to add 18-20% to group revenue.
  • EBITDA: forecast to add 29-31% to group EBITDA.
  • Next step: LCKY plans to help RoyalCasino launch its brands in other markets.

What they said

“The acquisition of RoyalCasino enhances our scale and provides clear opportunities to strengthen our presence in Denmark, a market that aligns closely with our focus on regulated, sustainable growth. We look forward to working closely with RoyalCasino to realise those opportunities and drive synergies that can create long-term value.”

Gamitas view

Denmark is one of Europe's most mature regulated markets, and single-market operators there are natural targets for groups that want scale without a new licence application. The forecast EBITDA uplift, larger than the revenue uplift, points to cost savings from running both businesses on shared operations.

For suppliers, consolidation usually leads to a review of platform, content and payment contracts as brands move onto one stack. Suppliers serving the market can be compared on our Denmark market page.
